I am About to buy a newish board privately off the 'breeze (interstate) and its a significant amount of money to me.

Anyone have tips for a safe way to make payment other than a direct deposit?

Drive there and hand over the cash personally .............

Have bought (and sold) a heap of gear through seabreeze and direct deposited to the seller's account. Never had a bad experience as 99.9% of seabreezers are decent folk (you 0.01% know who you are )

I've always done direct payment and have accepted direct payment.. But I've heard of people doing cash on pick up. Where you pay the courier on arrival.. Don't know much about it though

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have any problems with buying off anyone on seabreeze, especially if they're a regular, but a lot of people I've known who've bought boats from interstate use a half now, half on arrival arrangement if they're doing direct deposit.

Both parties have to come to that agreement though, there are a lot of "what ifs" to deal with. I'd probably just make the payment straight up....
