I just was given this sailboard fro a friend and it is missing multiple parts and I'm notnot sure what it even is. From other posts I think I've identified it as a big 250 "dufour" or something. I never have kiteboarded before and thought this would be fun. I can't find parts anywhere for it and was wondering if anyone could help. I have the board and the sail. Nothing else. No boom or fins. Not even the swivle thing to attach the sail to the board please help.

you could probably make the fins
the issue is "the swivel thing" called the universal joint
boards pre-2000 had proprietary universal joints
unfortunately u r in the Oz and i am in Canada
otherwise we could make a 3-D template and pour something into it

so, is it worth all this trouble ??
unfortunately i would say NOT
i always suggest people ensure they get the mast foot and fins
the rest can be substituted ...

The Bic 250 was my first board and have great memories of the big girl. Always said if I could find one again I'd buy it.

Where are you based as we have quite a few spares in the shop including a mastfoot for a Bic 250. Might have to try a few of the older funkier daggerboards we have in stock but there are a few.

Biggest problem with the 250 is the drop through fin at the rear of the board. Might have to get creative with that one but all possible.

I too had heaps of good times on the old bic 250.
Had it out just few days ago, even took my son for a ride sitting just in front of the mast- he thought it was great.
The old clip in fin would be very hard to get, and they were prone to breakage anyway. With most of these old plastic boards it is possible to fibreglass in a section of finbox in the cavity, then find, make or modify a fin that is short enough to fit it. That is what I did with mine and it works a treat.
If you do that you will only need the plastic foot that joins the universal joint to the board and the red clips and centreboard.
I suspect this bic model was derived from the "dufour wing". I think bic acquired the dufour brand in the mid 1980s. Maybe some of the old dufour wing bits would be compatible.

You can get a standard rig (mast, sail and boom) from pretty much any board and use it with the board. If you look on gumtree or ebay people will sell the lot for around $50 to $100. I think there was a bic 250 on ebay a few weeks back.
Boards with centreboards still rock.
