Tyronsea Stinger. I loved that board, until I got on a custom made Strapper Slalom. I then realised the Stinger was terrible. Compared to what I sail today, even worse. But I still loved it.

I'm another who went for the Bombora 270, bought from Board Crazy in Belmont (just after it moved).

Great intro board for it's time I reckon - plastic fantastic so very durable, and very smooth in the chop.

As I was a light little fella at the time I found it actually kept up with a fair few far more expensive boards of the day!

I got to see them get moulded in the giant roto-moulding machine that they had at Brookvale.

Still got it stored under the house for emergencies!

I had one of the first JP boards that he launched under is own brand after Strapper (circa 1995??). I recall it was a Wave 255 - all yellow with black and red graphics and the serial number was 52. The board is long gone but I still have the fin that I now use in my yellow Naish 11'2"SUP!

It was a great board that would still hold its own now

1st board: Windsurfer One Design bought in 1983 from Arlie Beach
2nd board: Wind Action wave board in 1985 from Boyne Island
3rd board: Bic Bebop raceboard in 1986 from Woolongong
4th board: Caveman wave board in 1990 from from Newcastle

I saved up for 2 years when I was a boy and bought a 5'6 Maurice cole second hand. I loved that board when I was a grom and thought it was so cool as my idols all rode his boards. Wonder if he's still shaping now.

Then my first new board I got new a Bombora I still have to this day. Goes great

My first board was mid 80s... Tyronsea 360. I kept chop hopping the things and had about three of them replaced under warranty. I then upgraded to a brand new Waitata II epoxy slalom... it was a real weapon.
