Hi all, just wondering if anyone with the white/black NP X9 200-260 carbon boom could tell me what it weighs and are they strong? It's very hard to get specs on them, I'm thinking of getting one to use it for Formula 10m as well as 7.7 slalom. My only concern is it might be a bit heavy for the slalom sail. I was holding out for a second hand Enigma but they seem to be Hard to come by. Thanks.

Hi Tinlyds
I'm not sure of the weight or strength.
I presume its all relative.
I suppose it depends if your a heavy guy like me.
I have a NP X9 225 - 265 carbon and a Unifiber 180 - 240 carbon.
Even on my 7.8 warp , 225 , I prefer the more solid and heavy NP.
But I am 120 kg and I do put a lot of flexing stress on my equipment.
Personally , I believe a heavier solid boom is better than a lighter flexier one.
However if your a light guy , its probably a load of crap that I have just waffled on about

and yeah rock solid , but I only use it on a 9.5m with around 246cm extension

I just decided to weigh my older NP carbon 225 - 270 formula boom and it was 3.4kg fully kitted out. So I'm thinking the new models have been beefed up slightly.

and the adj tailpiece is 30mm dia
