Hi Guys,
My son left a rig winch at Ricketts point beach (yacht club) in Melbourne.

Has anyone found it perhaps?

It's an all metal very solid device (no plastic parts only a black plastic hand grip)

Please let me know incase you know were it is.

If he learns how to use his harness hook, while wearing it, for down hauling, he will never need that tool again, and he will be able to adjust his down haul at water's edge w/o having to run back to get it first.
It's a very handy, and easy technique that everybody should learn.

But can you down haul a race sail with a 100% carbon mast in it to a precise position with your harness hook?

Also Ezzy sails have down haul gages on them, using this method you're sitting on the ground close to the down haul and you can easily see the gages, so you can stop pushing with your leg at the exact spot you want.
You can also get more leverage pushing with your leg, while leaning back, than you can cranking with your arm with one of those cranks. You don't even need any arm strength, because you are only using one hand holding the rope wraps around itself and the hook, easily done, leaving the other hand free to take a selfie while you're down hauling.

Ezzy don't make race sails. Multi cam race sails are much harder to downhaul. A winch is a wise investment if you own them. Wave or freeride sails a a doddle to downhaul in comparison!

^ ^^^ nah I still wanna see Mastbender get that last 1/4" of downhaul on a race sail with his legs, compared to a winch.

And no, I'm not a racer, my biggest sail is a 5.7.
