A man and a friend are windsurfing one day at their local spot. One of the men is about to gybe when he sees a long funeral procession on the road next to where they are sailing. He stops mid-gybe and, standing on his board, he closes his eyes and bows down in prayer.

His friend pulls up alongside and says: “Wow, that is the most thoughtful and touching thing I have ever seen. You truly are a kind man.”

The man then replies: “Yeah, well we were married 35 years.”

Reminds me of my father-in-law's funeral.
Driving slowly in the funeral procession behind the hearse, my husband, who hates being held up by anyone in traffic, absent-mindedly pulls out to pass!

The windsurfing joke is us.

Frittering away the precious hours and minutes of our all too brief lives talking about windsurfing because there isn't enough wind to actually do it. ha.... ha... a cracked and bitter laugh escapes my lips as an awful doubt intrudes into my jaded consciousness. Is there really such a thing as windsurfing or am I the victim of an evil hypnotist?
