Thought: what about adding one or more arrow colour in the Seabreeze wind forecast and live report graphs between green (18+) and brown (35+)? Not sure if this was discussed before.

Currently, any wind between 18 and 35 knots is being displayed in the same green colour (or red if you reverse).
On a windsurfer at least, the difference between 18 knots (barely going, biggest kit) and 35 knots (howling, smallest kit and still overpowered?) is massive.

I think it would be great to add one or two colours, for instance like this:

Red: 0-10 knots, Force 3 or less
Amber: 11-16 knots, Force 4
Yellow: 17-21 knots, Force 5
Green: 22-27 knots, Force 6
Blue: 28-33 knots, Force 7
Brown: 33+ knots, Force 8

Maybe that is too much of a change for existing users although I think it would be better. A less impactful change could be adding at least one additional colour between the current green and brown would already be very helpful, for instance blue from for 24+ knots so that we have 6 knot increments following the Beaufort wind scale up to Force 6.

Lol, pretty accurate in WA most of the time though and it would be particularly helpful in the live reports which I use quite a lot as we're lucky enough that there's a few accurate wind measure stations in the area.

It won't work in Qld because we still do things in black and white

I like what you're suggesting, but Beaufort scale is not a common language in AU. I've never heard anybody use it in conversation. My suggestion would be to align your idea with BOM and go up in scales of 5 kts. 0-5, 5-10, 5-15 etc. The only place I see BOM using Beaufort is in their marine forecasts.

I agree knots makes more sense. The only reason I suggested Beaufort is that the current colours funnily enough seem to follow it as per that link above.

For me personally, this would be ideal:
Under 18 kts, don't care - red
18-21 kts, light but nice on bigger gear - yellow
22-25 kts, starting to get fun - green
26-29, now we're talking, taking the day off - blue
30-33, could be epic or expensive, purple
34+, maybe not, brown

That is my preference as well now days. I can't be bothered taking the afternoon off work if it's not +18. But the foilers are happy with a lot less wind, and as for the fishos...

Hehe, it's not hard, just not great on a touch screen hovering and holding the arrow to read the value. I like colours so we can "read" the values instantly without any additional work

Cripes mine would be
12-15kts yellow lovely on the big gear
15-20kts nice - medium gear
20-25kts - small gear getting to be a handful in chop
25-30kts - survival on wave gear
30kts plus - flatwater only and still survival
