As a weak female who ofetn sails when no one else is around the whinch is one of my favourite pieces of kit.
I even modified mine to suit the Neil Pryde MXT bases a bit easier. I wouldn't want to ruin my delicate frame downhauling sails. Plus it allows you to set the downhaul exactly how you like it.
