Yes "surf the net" did get named by McCahill whilst he was thinking about windsurfing, but,
remember that was waaay back when they had really slow dial up connections??? what ever that was, some here may remember, so it kinda fit.

But in general, for the average sailor, in anything above twenty knots, windsurfers are faster than kitesurfers, and even jetskis on the right angle.

Sure, a kitesurfers is faster in a speed canal, but who has even seen one of those?

If your sail isn't leaning into the wind you haven't experienced sailing in its most enjoyable form.

... not like kiting was developed in dial-up days? About 1999-2000 wasn't it?

I did that twice and u are correct until 30cm water with 40cm fin , then again Sandy point in canal , yeah deep water at corner bouy ! Cost me 2 alloy booms . Now running carbon and still crashing , haven't busted one. Agreed leaning in on a gust , no kite can defend !

Just a thought, how old are kitesurfers? Are they really the hip cool dudes still or are they getting a bit old to claim that still? How's the mortgage going guys?
