Just bought a Windsurfer LT. The first thing I noticed was how big they are and how awkward it is to transport and get the thing to the water's edge, compared to my other boards.

I'm looking for recommendations for a set of wheels I can use to get it from the car park to the water which is only up to 40-50 metres, but too far to be lumping it for an old fella like me.

A sailing buddy has just bought and used one of these C Tug Sandtrax trolleys for the first time and he's quite happy with it.

Anyone have a recommendation based on first hand use?
From my limited experience, one issue is getting a good attachment between board and trolley.

Using a kayak trolley can be super handy. Gotta tie the gear on- I use a rope with a trucker's hitch, but I'm sure a tie down or even an occy strap will do the job. Just has to be firm, not tight. Some of them need a specific direction to push otherwise the leg collapses, which can be a trap. Found that out the hard way! Usually have the leg facing you if you're pushing the board forward. Steering in my experience is better pushing rather than pulling. Enjoy the LT OW! It's a brilliant board in so many ways.

The new Windsurfer LT definitely feels heavier than the old Windsurfer One Design from back in the day... I was pretty shocked at how heavy they actually are.

Very clever design.
The wheel trolley with fastest setup (no strap to thread and fasten), and being rigid wheels you don't have to worry about tyre flat, etc ...
However depending on the tail width, thickness or shape, it might not work that well (e.g. KonaOne, or Exocet RS pin style tail raceboard)
I don't have an LT, my guess is that it will work for the Windsurfer LT, but not sure. Maybe you can check with the manufacturer for dimensions of the D frame and figure it out

There's zero doubt that the LT is far lighter than the One Design; I three two LTs (including a very early one that has been abused) and four One Designs knocking around at home and the difference in weight is huge, with the LT dramatically lighter.

I think the One Design was a great board in its day, but it's far heavier and inferior in almost all respects to the LT. I suspect you may not have lifted a One Design in a long time.

imagine if you have carry out to low tide.

You can put it on your head if it's not very windy and let it rest on your neck. it's pretty easy to carry that way.

If its windy I find angeling the board perpendicular to the wind - it will move there automatically - helps and then grab onto the daggerboard handle to rail the board towards you. This will cause the wind to lift the board for you.
