Have a look at what Sandman does. Then don't do that.

You will likely be annoyed and then less paranoid after you have put your first mark on it. Just use it!

Fill out the warranty card .
Accept new boards don't last like your old board did .
Don't ever take the vent plug out
Ride it like you stole it
Chicks dig scares
Start saving for a new board ,
or ,
repair the old board because it was more comfortable

Wrap it thoroughly in cotton wool, then put it in a dry/cool/dark room, shut the door, lock it and flush the key down the toilet.

seriously though, some of the above is relevant, keep it dry, in a cool environment out of the sun when not in use. And accept that its made to be ridden. Wear and tear are part of the deal, you'll cry less about damage after the first ding.

If none of that works for you then give it to me, i'll look after it.

I use to be like that, a new board is like a new car. But seriously just use it, Go hard & clock some use from it.they don't last for ever.every board delames & get scratches from wear & tear.get a good padded board bag { flying objects).if you can get your hands on one.getting rare now.if you get 5 seasons out of it,you are doing well.just my 2 cents.lol

keep it dry .

use a boom bra ,avoid dropping your boom on it .get a board cover
most dings happen when transporting your board .don't leave it in the sun too long
Treat it like a toy , just enjoy it . if you ding it send it to Mark he can fix anything

Carbon hulls dont like being put on tarmac/hard floors as any grit/stones will leave little indentations on the hull.

What is your current windsurfing level/ability?
If you are still getting "catapults" I would recommend to put on a nose guard. A board-bag also helps to avoid damages on land.

You should be able get at least 20-years of usage out of a modern board. :)

Ok,
1- I only ever bought 1 brand new board in my life! I know my ability and the potential damage I will do to my boards so to avoid being p.....ed off with myself, I knew I could only buy 2nd hand. Buying a 2k - 4k board and damaging it within a week was likely so buying a 500 - 1k board was a better option and getting it repaired if I damage it. This system has worked so far. I'm slowly getting better and have bought near new boards and falling off or damaging isn't as common as it use to be.

2- if your filthy rich, just buy new boards to help our local sailboard sellers. Ride the board till your not happy with the slight indentation you made in the nose then trade it in for a new model- this allows for a good trade in for others at a fraction of the cost of a new board.

my board breaks each time i catapult.
with a nose guard as well.

Hold onto you boom and pull your back hand in when catapulting. This will initiate the start of a forward loop and throw the mast clear of the nose of your board. You end up falling onto your back in front of the board.

For foiling, there is always a next catapult
Add 20-25mm nose foam
Leave it on for the life of the board no matter how good you get

This or drop rear hand completely

Don't get over ambitious, trying to sail enticing shallow reef breaks.
Don't be a lazy git and chuck your board in van unprotected and then surprised its mysterious got dented on the track to the beach
Those seem to cause the damage to my boards. Not figured out a way of preventing it yet.

Mast foot pressure, not letting go of your boom and sheer luck are the keys to preventing damage.

To prevent wear and tear, don't use it, leave it the box.

That's because the older board in the pic is a solid , well made board . I'd go , " hee for tiggy ", if the new version of this board will last anywhere as long .

Unless you apply your regular sailing to a "Friday afternoon board" that popped out of the Cobra assembly line

Transport it in a board bag, store it out of one.
Avoid hitting it into hard objects while carrying it.
Undo vent after sailing do up before.
Don't leave it in a hot car.
Know where rocks and shallow reefs in the water are.
Don't flat land it, bend your knees.
Avoid colliding with other water users
Have fun sailing it.
