You will get many different answers to your question as each sailors views are so a varied.
Try a rule of thumb.
For a big board like a 125 litre slalom board and 7.8 I will use a 36cm weedy.
For a 112 litre board I use a 32cm weedy with a 7.0 or 6.7.
These days its quite common for guys to use quite small weedys due to thickness of weed and water depth.
At places like Illawarra the locals are using 17-19cm fins as its shallow as.
For somewhere like Canton Beach the depth is OK but the weed is VERY thick. So a more swept back fin (most weedys are 45 deg) like 50 deg can be a huge help.
I use a 25cm 50 deg in a 112 slalom board. Works fine. Try a 34 weedy. JP and Flying Objects make good ones.
