I know this could be a controversial topic here, but where are you guys advertising your used gear, there is bugger all worth while equipment (boards) for sale on here, and market place is a pain in my rectum for windsurf gear.

and I have no luck selling, used boards here, even though they may be dinged but still for the price, your lucky they are water tight.

FB is a useless format for selling it's too hard to find stuff

I think here is best by far

However I've had a common size board for sale for ages and no takers I wonder if people don't have the coin and are holding onto stuff longer

I've sold a fair bit through Marketplace but the market is not huge so you can't be in a hurry, price stuff reasonably and eventually someone will come along who wants it. I also buy all my used gear through marketplace. What type of board are you currently looking for?

Wind Smurf is right if you browse Marketplace outside of WA you soon realise we have far more choice and the prices seem far more reasonable than over east.

Over here in SE Qld there has been a surge in the numbers of people using foils of some description. There might be less people in the market if they have spent their money on a different toy.

Maybe the lack of supply of new gear has something to do with it. Seems to be reducing year by year. Not everyone wants to place an order and wait 12 months for gear with no specs when ordering. Less new gear, less people replacing gear and hanging on to what they've got.

I Agree, the wait time.for new gear is starting to get annoying.l know the cronie stuffed the world up, in terms of getting overseas gear landed in Oz. buying a new race sail these days is hard. I think l'm better of waiting & buy a good used one.

Not really, because they will still get out their windsurfing gear if the conditions suit. No point in selling it.

Never had a problem selling or buying gear on Seabreeze. Good kit at a reasonable price will go in a heartbeat. Sell it and maybe take a small financial hit then move on. If everyone adopted that same attitude instead of hanging out for unrealistic top dollar then there would be more items in the marketplace I believe.
Buying is just a matter of regularly checking for what you want and maybe making a compromise on choice if you cant get the exact item you want. If there is something really specific and you can't get second hand then the new market is the go. Wait times for some stuff is crazy though.

Be careful on market place. I have a bunch of gear for sale and keep getting scam buyers. Fortunately I'm not giving out my details.

Agree my gear is looked after and sold depreciated for the hours of fun I've had. Mostly I sail alone and don't need the latest kit to enjoy sailing waves lots of hardly used older gear around.
