Hello everyone,I was offerd this JP All Ride 116 liters board with relatively good price.
My experiece on windsurfing is coulple of short seasons here in Finland
and I'm not sure if this board is suitable for me and my skills.

The smallest board I've tried is JP X-Cite Plus 145 liters and that felt
quite suitable at that point. So is there a huge difference between those
volumes? Can you uphaul on that with some choppy water (I weight 74 kilos/163lbs)?
Would it be wiser to practise take a smaller step to example 135 liter board?

Im 72kg, I can up-haul a 6.6m sail on a 110L Bic hard Rock in 10 knot wind. So with practice you could do it..its just on the limit for me. Im beginner to intermediate.

I'm 75 kilos and can uphaul a 114 litre Exocet. I learnt to ride on a 137 litre board and though it is a bit of a step, you should be able to handle the smaller board with a bit of practice I'd get it if your options are limited and it is a fair price. If it all becomes too difficult you could buy a larger board for the light wind days and keep this one for when you can water start and stronger winds.

I went from a 160L to a 110L - im 90kegs
Learn to water start. 116L will be a great size

How often can you get out to sail? If you can go a few times a week the 116 will be possible but a steep learning curve.If you can only get out every few weeks it may be a bit of a jump.

I'm about 74 kgs. My second board was a 110 litre JP excite-ride which I got in my second season, was the best move I ever made. My biggest board is now a 110 litre which I can uphaul an 8.6 sail on.
116 will be great once you have used it a few times

I asked a similar question a bit over a year ago and got lots of friendly advice. Looking back the best advice I got was not to be too hasty getting off my larger board. I did do the transition later that season, going down to 107 L. It is a great little board but I glad that I delayed my progression by half a year.
