I'm after some UV resistant epoxy for deck regrip.
Google was no help. Whitworths was no help.
Where do you get it?

Get Bote Cote from Boatcraft Pacific in Qld.
They do a sample pack that is enough to grip two boards easily.... but you have to specify the non-yellowing hardener

Seeing as you are there they may also supply Intergrip acrylic dust also

I used some antislip tape that I got at whitworths a few years ago instead of getting a respray. It worked well and has lasted

Plenty of sugar over everything. Take tape off while sill wet. Let the ants have a field day with it then rinse the rest off a day later.

How hard is it on your feet, I expect it would wear the skin off.

Not near as hard as walking on pavement or hot sand. I didn't cover the deck. Just a few parallel strips about 8cm apart between the front and rear pads so my feet don't slide when I gybe

Auto paint suppliers do 2 pac epoxy in pressure cans, I have used clear 2 pac epoxy and castor sugar works great done a couple of boards and grip is still going strong need to lightly sand the deck a fine layer of spray is all that's needed. One can will do about 3 boards but once you activate the hardener it will go off inside the can and can't be used again.

2 pack Epoxy, this is what the product looks like, I get mine from local auto paint supply shop

I use botecote. The 2:1 ratio means its easier to get spot on mixes.

castor sugar. Any more than 50g on a 250cm board you're doing it wrong.

I'd say its not epoxy, its paint. 2 pack polyurethane (car paint).
Not a problem as many 2K polyurethane paints are just as durable as epoxy in this application .....and I suspect it is what Cobra uses (?)

But - unless it specifies it is isocyanate free, those paints are poisonous as hell.
So whilst it works great, for the 1 time regripper, a foam roller and bote cote (or another UV stable epoxy) is probably way safer. Plus there is only 1/4 as much masking lol, mask the edge and you're done, no need to cover pads n straps etc.

Plus $15 of bote cote sample pack does two boards... you are paying a lot for half of it to go off in the can...

EDIT just read the full MSDS and it is isocyanate hardener. It is deadly stuff designed for painting cars and needs serious PPE. and OMG it is $57.

Deadly alright, you wouldn't want to use it in an enclosed space, I sprayed mine outside and had a proper respirator, but the finish/durability is top notch, I have done a board using bote cote as well works great but doesn't come up as good as 2pac.
This is a board I regripped with 2pac great finish and grip.

^^ agreed on result being better. I am experimenting with 2K matte clear to try and duplicate factory finish exactly for small repaired areas. I wonder about durability though as some factory boards are slippery in a season, epoxy and Intergrip always years and years of life

One of my boards has been going strong for 3 years now but in saying that I don't sail as much as you guys, I think using castor sugar gives a better lasting grip than the grip dust they use from factory.

Yep, Boat Coat & Interstella work wonders.
Prob is though if ya made a 60grit instead of a 240 odd ,when you collide with your board the injury seems to bypass scab stage straight through to sexy scar ?? As it is said ,Go easy on the white stuff.
3 years on and the frosty lamington is still grippy as hell.

I gave Greenleaders super secret method a go as well , works a treat also.
He even pm'd me back with deeper techniques not publicly known !!
