So I've been kiting for over 20 years and have in the past 6 months or so developed trigger finger middle finger on my left hand (I'm natural and ride toe side-so left hand often on bar) - I've had two cortisone injections in that finger, relieves pain for a while, but locking still occurs - so surgery looks likely. I'm also starting to get it on right hand ??. None of my kiting/windsurfing friends have had it.

Posting to see if anyone here has had it and, if so, treatments and outcomes, please? Thanks.

Has anybody suggested Viking disease?

I've had a procedure for Dupuytren's contracture, not what you have but maybe relevant to others.
Was advised not to undergo surgery too early as this will typically return after surgery and will subsequently require more surgeries into scar tissue.
I opted for this surgery when my little finger was clubbing at 45deg and adjacent finger at 20deg. I was told a skin graft at same time would reduce likelihood of reoccurrence.
Extremely happy with the results after 18 months, 100% movement and strength. Recovery was about a month.

Hi - thanks for the response - it's apparently not the same thing - but a slightly similar surgical procedure - apparently quite simple and done under local. I'm not stoked that after about 10 years of windsurfing and 20+ kiting I'm now getting this condition arise - might be age-related, of course
