Question for those guys they have gone there recently, any issues taking your equipment on the internal flights?
Presumably you arrive in Santiago then fly LAN to Lima and onto Trujillo? Most of the aircraft are A320's which are containerised and won't fit anything much bigger than a surfboard.
Any advice and tips welcome

The wind there is not that variable so i think 5-6m sails and a floaty board is all ya need. Maybe just carry your rig and rent a board, cuts the weight down too.

The key is to book your flight all the way to Trujillo. That way they give you 2 bags at 23Kg each (from memory). If you were to book to Santiago and buy a separate ticket to Lima or Trujillo, it's considered intercontinental travel and you get just one bag. Great conditions at Pacasmayo, but take a bigger board and sail. I go there to kite with 12m and 9m quiver and a high volume surfboard. Sailboards are generally around the 100 litre mark. Hey robbo, all the guys that flew into trajulo reported no issues with the flights and baggage. I flew into Lima and caught the overnight bus to pacasmayo which was pretty good option as you have a bed on the bus and it takes 12hours so perfect to sleep away your jet lag.
