Hello my friends!

The windsurfing season here in Montreal (Qc, Canada) is just starting. Will waiting for that I made a video about our best days sailing on snow with some winski and windsnow.

We had some realy good time sailing even if it was cold (avg. -15 C).

Here my video Time to Sail on Snow

Cheers my friends!

Looks like great fun. I guess it only works in light wind, otherwise you start going sideways?
I wish we has snow in winter. Winter is a waste of time without snow.

The best winds for the conditions seen on this video is 15, 20 to 30 knots. I does not go side ways.

We could go up hill with good wind.

We do some wave and freestyle on water, no freeride or speed with GPS, but we do have some friends who do that and we respect that, it's all about fun and attitude like the Gorge Surf Shop Rules!

Have some good time sailing!

Cheers

How is the mast base fitted on the twin ski's? I can se its mounted, but the ski's move in and out so what is the set up? You got a still photo ?

Not sure how the feeling compares between skis and the snowboard but the snowboard action sure looks better. How much wind was there?

When I tried this I found a fundamental flaw (on snowboard) in that initially to go forward you need mast foot pressure (downwards), however you still need to create an edge on the board to not go sideways. So the two forces fight each other.

It doesn't look like you have this problem? Maybe as you pick up speed and rake the sail over it is less of a issue?

i had similiar issues and am NOT a freestyler
i wanted NO spinout and thus followed more the example of the racers on snow

It's fun with good wind, 20-30 knots, at least 15-25 knots. To ride the windsnow like Greg, you need some good snow conditions and practice.

Both sport are fun, the windsnow could make some good freestyle. The windski could go on bump and hill, and it's also faster. Doing both help to cover more conditions, snow to ice.
