Could this be the bridge that joins the polies and the teabaggers in unity? Kiting, windsurfing, surfing, sailing, paddleboarding, or swimming... we are all human and we all love the water. Beers to anyone that helps another in need and curses to those arrogant assholes that ignore another that needs help.

And as the guy in the other forum asked, how come you were hanging onto your rig, and not your board?

as I said in the other thread, a uni will usually fail in some sicko maneouvre and your feet come out of the straps at the same time. By the time you get oriented and stick your head out of the water, you are holdinga boom and the board is 20m away and blowing away fast. you'd never catch it.
if it separated in a hi jump it could blow 50m before it even lands....

I know that.... but I want to know what kind of sicko twisted up move this guy was tweaking when his UJ broke!

This is indeed a heart-warming tale, and I don't want in any way to play down the actions of the kiters. Good onya guys. Well done.

But if any of us think we are seamen or women (don't snigger, Ritchiefish), sailors, watermen or what ever to any degree, we shouldn't forget that the law of the sea obliges us to go to the assistance of anyone else in distress, if it doesn't endanger yourself (or your crew), whether they are a poley, tea-bagger, newby, oldfart, jetskier or fisho.

i shreaded a sail on a dumpy marginal day at lacies/currumbin and was towed back in by a guy kiting with me. about the same time a tinny trying to cross the bar capsized and lost all it's load, 2 kids, husband, wife, and esky, and by the time i got into the beach there were all these washed up fresh UDL cans scattered all up and down the beach. i think it was god saying "there there, here's a treat to cheer you up"
