Anyyway -

Yeah it is nice to have stuff come out to the country, but after Cold Chisel, then Baby Animals, now this - I am a bit over it. They don't send 200 ambo's coppers and firies here for all of these events. So all you end up with is local people pissed off, volunteers working their arse off and not having a good time, and local economy really gets stuff-all out of it.
I'd rather drive to Perth to see a band / event and make a weekend of it than pay almost as much locally but have all the social issues that come with big events in places with little resources.
I'd rather see Rally Australia and Red Bull Air Race (that WA lost), than more and more drug fkd and/or piss fueled events - especially country ones. We used to have a couple of festivals, now it is heaps. I know volunteer ambo's that have not had a weekend to themselves for months. Maybe TripleJ can cough up a bit for a donation....?

it is not an old or young thing - it is a resources thing and an increase in demand that is unsustainable. We have a 50% increase in population in 20yrs, and a 4 or 500% increase in these events. Used to be Big Day Out and that was it. Now we have tons....... and regional areas can't handle it.
I want as many as possible as 20,000 drunk gals from the big smoke is just fine by me.
Trouble is the reality which is lack of response from a Govt that is broke (apparently) and cries do more with less etc.
