There is live tracking for the event.

Can follow Grae live with his first race starting around 7pm. Grae is in the Technoplus class(8.5m) with 53 entered. Last year they had 95 as it was a youth olympic qualifying event. Many youth have opted to go standard Techno (7.8) with about 70 boys, big fleet!
All up over 300 kids.
Thats a lot of new blood for the sport.

Technoplus has 53 male entrants,33 youth and 20 adults.
Grae scored a 19th and 25th in the youth. Day 1 done and it is going to be a long hard week, Weather looks like it will be a bit of a mix . Lighter winds tomorrow building to 20 knots Friday.
The girls youth T+ fleet is almost the same size with 29. Youth Techno female with 37 and 29 in the juniors. So plenty of girls are windsurfing.

Today was the 1st day of proper racing. 12-17 knots , onshore with large seas. 300+ competitors in 6.8m (u15yrs), 7.8m (u17yrs) and 8.5m (youth/open). Boys and girls divisions in each also.

Really full on day, but only 2 races per division sailed.

For some reason the RO set a port end bias start (impossible to lay on starboard in almost every race). So total chaos as you can imagine.

Grae Morris scored a 26, and 34th.
Pretty happy with that as first time in a worlds, with no expectations or previous way to gauge form.

Ps: Latvia is not what we expected. Sunny, windy, warm water and beautiful sandy beaches. Can't complain.

Plenty more racing to come or check out official website.

Well, that's pretty cool. Pulled up the live-track just as a race started.
