I've seen a heap of conversation on how to unseize a stuck zipper on board cover etc. I've seem boiling water, CRC and others alike. As i was boiling the kettle i found a can of "Electronics cleaner" Sprayed that ****e on and in less than a minute the zip was free. Then i treated the zip with silicone spray.

So if you have a can give it a shot

Haven't read earlier remedies but vinegar seems to work very well also.

I found electronics spray dissolved the corrosion very quickly. Personal experience

what is the best solution for corrosion prevention on windsurf equipment zippers? Vaseline on the zip or something. Does the silicone spray last long or does it need regular reapplication?

Someone mentionned rubbing a wax candle on the zip, apparently leaves a protecting coating

Just plain 'ol surf wax works the best, a little bit goes a long ways, it doesn't last forever, but I've found nothing else as good.

For a stuck metal zip the corrosion is metal oxide (basic) so vinegar and vigorous brushing / wriggling often does the job

Always preferred plastic zippers

White vinegar spray work great. Spay on and watch it eat all the oxidisation away. Then wax zip as a preventative measure.

CLR to dissolve the corrosion then take the bag to a boat trimmer and have them fit a plastic slider. The mind boggles as to why manufactures continue to use cast alloy sliders when plastic sliders cost no more.
