I bought a second hand starboard Go 155 off someone on this site a couple years back.

He gave me Drake R13 540 fin along with the board.

Currently using fanatic 6m rig package on the board.

Weigh around 85kg.

Been out maybe 50 hours total and enjoying it. Been out in light to moderate winds, want to start getting out in 10-15+ knots.

Was down at Rye front beach (near sailing club) and fin was hitting sand on the sand banks when sailing back in toward the beach.

Thinking about a shorter fin.

Any suggestions on length or type? Will it be compatible with smaller board when i progress enough?

Thanks.

Thats a massive fin
6m; 10-15knt... maybe something around 35 Freeride fin on a board that size??
I learnt with a 33 plastic weed fin on my 165L and that was plenty.
Whats the rule? (Sail size x 5) +3
something like that.

Thanks - wasn't sure if 33 or 35 would be too small.

Fin i got seems to be alright, but i haven't tried any to compare, just so long.

Starboard website has 2 fins (maybe) it says come with the board - Deep Tuttle Drake R13 Race NR 520 + Drake Shallow 410 on Tufskin model - sail range 5.5-9.5

I think if you are under finned you better be overpowered a bit with the sail and visa versa, if your fin is a bit too big you better not be overpowered with the sail.
