In the UK, we call this spritzing. Basically, when your passing a mate, you spray them with water. Seen pictures of people doing it, but I can't figure out how to actually do it. I have a big list of mates I want to spritz.

Any one fancy posting step by step instructions, please

Be the faster sailor.
Be upwind of your target.
Bear down on em whilst fangin.
Then sharply head back upwind.
Really jammin the board to do so.
Victim soaked.

Can be dangerous so practice witout a target, just sail alomg and heel pressure to carve to windward and there it is. When you get confident sail close to a mate in the same direction but upwinfd of them and as you are just infont of them carve hard up wind and they should sail into it and be suitably spritzed.

Dont do it wihile both sailing towards each other (what happens if you both have the same idea?). BOOM BABY $$$$$$$$$$

This reminds me of the day that the marine and harbours waved me down to stop so I pulled up hard on the windward side and spritzerd them good they lost the plot and threatened to fine me for wetting them

Cheers BSN101, that's the plan, practise first and spritz safely.

scott mckercher and a bunch of the hard core strong slalom crew were mad spritzers in the mid 90s- they could hit you so hard with so much water that you were physically knocked off your board

The trick is to get the board at the top of a chop sail forward rail the board firm but don't over do it .. the top of the chop gives you more water too throw and by sail forward and not railing to hard gives a longer throw with a bigger projectory and heavy spray

Mmmmmm.......sorry to say but I'm not a fan of this at all. It's dangerous and risky behaviour. Even the best sailors can lose fin grip or hit some weed and suddenly be heading directly towards another sailor at speed without control.

Maybe just do it to your mates if they are okay with it.

Tardy, wide tail moves much more water. Coz you can dig rail in deeper n harder.
I prefer to use my 250hp outboard for a nice friendly spritz to my boatin mates.
Just casually back up to em give it a trim up n jam that throttle. Hahaha
Man does that fill em in!
So cool!!
The look on their faces is PRICELESS.

Agree, Byron Marsh was able to lay targets with uncanny accuracy and enough potency to take out an eye . He'd like fly the fin before a flick of the ankles thus unleashing a buckets worth to the head region of unsuspecting victims.
