Hi im from Germany and im going to spent the whole January in North Avoca near Sydney.
I have a few Questions.

1. Is it possible/allowed to kitesurf on the North Avoca Beach??

2. Is it allowed to Kitesurf on the beach side of "The Entrance"
I have only seen pics auf kitesurfers on the lake side. But this spot is offshore when is NE Wind.

3. How windy are the days in January?

January kann an der Central Coast allgemein ganz windig sein. Vorherschende Windrichtung ist Nord Ost. In einem gutten Sommer blaesst es ca 3 bis 5 mal die Wochen. Dann kommt meist eine Front aus dem Sueden mit 30 knoten wind. Suedwind blaesst allerdings nur fur ein paar Stunden dafuer kann man die Uhr nach seiner Ankunft Stellen. Als regel gilt, wenn in Sydney der Suedwind eintrifft wird es dauert es ca 1 Stunde before er an der Central Coast ankommt.

In Sachen kite spots frag im Kiteforum nach. Die AKSA hat auch Informationen. Hier in Sydney zum Beispiel ist Kiten nur noch an wenigen Straenden erlaubt.

Sowohl North als auch South Avoca liegt ziehmlich in der Abdekung. In Strandmitte kann es sein dass man kite darf aber der Wind kommt da nicht so gut rein. Wamberal ist bei Nord Ost schein ein bisschen besser.

Am Entrance Lake blaest der Wind uebrigens meist noch beisschen staerker als anderswo in dieser Gegend. Aufs Wasser geht man am besten gleich nach der Bruecke. Dort kommt der Nord Ost wind sideshore an. Flaechenmaessig ist auf dem See mehr als Genugplatz.

Ansonsten frag mal bei Windsurf N Snow hier in Sydney nach. Die koennen Dir weitere Infos und auch Kontakte geben. Die Sprechen zwar kein Deutsch sind aber sehr freundlich.

Insgesammt wuerde ich dir raten ein Auto zu besorgen.

Viel Spass! Die Gegened um Sydney wird im Sommer sowohl in Sachen Windsurfen als auch Kitesurfen von vielen unterschaetzt.

PS: Ob es ein windreicher Sommer oder nicht wird haengt haufig von dem el Ninio effect ab. Im Moment sieht es so aus als ob es ein super Sommer werden wird. Sowohl here in Sydney als auch in WA hat sich die Seabreeze etwas frueher als normal zurueck gemeldet.

Avoca is gold,,easly the best surf break i saw on my travels through nsw...

how good is the free tow on the rip along the rocks - magic..

probably a bit too technical for kite, to many surfers and wind shadows, surf club probably wouldn't allow it.

Kiters often go to Umina, Toowoon Bay or Canton Beach in anything southerly. Could prbably go Umina south end or Toowoon Bay in a northerly.
