Thought I'd share a little video to show the Soloshot2 capabilities for windsurf video.
Due to the angle with the sailing location the tracking is a bit off during fast direction changes, but overall it works pretty good I think.

By the way, this is the setup, fully automatic, so nobody has to stay on the beach behind the camera

Maybe someone just guarding it against someone else who might like it more than you.

Camera is the same as shown in the pic above, max zoom is 30x optical.

The unit has a k-lock slot so I just secure it to the bullbar if there are any other people around

I have one for sale. It's a Soloshot 2 bundle and comes with a Sony - CX240 which has a 27x Optical/54x Clear Image Zoom. I imagine that's the same as Eazy's above. I was dying to use it and got it a year ago but haven't had enough time to even open the box. Things aren't likely to get better since I'm now building my own house and when I go windsurfing I usually have to rig up for the wife and kids as well as my sail. PM me if you're interested. I was going to advertise it on Seabreeze but I can't think which category it would get found in.

Thats pretty cool technology.

What happened to your backie @ 11 sec, looked like you were about to shoot 40 ft into the air, but barely managed 2!

^^ Yes I agree, I've pre-ordered the Soloshot3 already.
Should be even better than the 2.

Zed, that backie was a bonus, I was just trying to get out on my first run and had hardly enough speed to get over the wave.

How does the technology work i.e how does it track you? Do you carry a receiver?

you carry a waterproof transmitter on your arm with a velcro strap.

Beauty is that if you tap it 3 times it automatically highlights the video by ending the movie file and starting a new one.
This makes editing afterwards very easy.
