We all know South Africans go on and on about how good it is 'back home'. After seeing this I think they may be right. Oh except for all carjackings, That's not so good.

That's right, these are not locals. The German Surf magazine does its annual pilgrimage there to test and review the latest gear. It is a great place with consistent SE winds, but the water is very cold at the wave spot (Sunset Beach).

I have to say, Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Great food, beer & wine and most importantly awesome wave sailing spots along the coast. I highly recommend Cape Town as a holiday destination for a all-round holiday.

I found it interesting how in the shanty town everything was clean,no litter and empty goon bags lying about.Their clothes where clean. They improvise and make their own musical instruments etc. and live life happy.
Even in severe poverty these people have self respect.
So different from the shanty towns i've seen in Oz...

Thanks for posting the 18 minute video on South Africa. That was a nice clip. Makes me want to visit. Makes me want to travel again. There is so much beauty and diversity on this great blue planet we live on.

You are sooo right!
Most people seem to take it all for granted but when you stop for a while and look at it, it really is an absolute jewell just floating here in space.
We are so lucky that we have the means to move amongst it and enjoy it all.
I didn't really see it so much when I was younger. It was just somewhere which was fun to play in. I think I see it and appreciate it much more now.
