Hi!

I'm a formula newbie from the land of the icebears.. :)

Desperately seeking guidance on how to proceed now..
I posted in starboard forum but then realised that may have been the wrong place for Severne feedback :) eventhough I got some good ones.

I have made a pre-order of the Reflex 7 10.0. this will hopefully end up in my country in january.
Now I got the info from Sean O'brien that this sail is more for slalom guys like Bjorn i.e a lightwind sail(well light for Bjorn that is)

I am really lacking guidance on which size is highwind and where the Reflex slalom line overlaps with Formula so I seek guidance here(as Severne has not yet replied and I've waited weeks)

I wanted highwind formula sail for 16-17kts and up. Does that mean I should have ordered the 9.5 size instead?
Will I be hugely overpowered with a 10.0 in 20kts+ or can the sail be trimmed with less grunt to suit high-wind?

Thing is that if I cancel this order, the next order delivery date is april-may(which usually means more like june-july which is sort of too late.. so cancelling this is a big thing for me. but rather do that then have a redundant sail that will be sort of hard to sell further..

Is Ben Severne around?

Best Regards
Johan

I have a 11.5 and 10 reflex 6's love them both, my opinion on them is that the 11.5 seems to be very good allround but as I am very light it does do alot more bottom end work
The 10 however is definitely at home for me in the strong stuff, lots of control and very light in 20 knots
Can't comment on the reflex 7 but the general rule of thumb for formula is 12=lightwind, 11=moderate, 10=strong wind
Have a look at the list of registered setups of competitors at the last world champs

Thanks! yeah I thought it was so easy as 12,11 and 10.. but then looking at what people consider being 12 actually being 11.8 and 10 being 9.5-9.7
its hard for a total noob to know what to buy.

But if 10.0 works for you in the strong stuff then likely it will work for me too.
To be honest above 20kts on a formula still gets me scared :D
