More then likely it's a problem with the VPN providers DNS servers. I have for example seen DNS servers of a VPN provider I used in the past only refresh every 24 hours. So every time a particular web site / service made some changes to their DNS setup they would fall off the edge of the earth. Sometimes a manual DNS flush would force their DNS server to refresh but that wasn't consistent.Googles 8.8.8.8 is probably the "most available" DNS on the planet... draw back is that most likely every single spy agency on the planet is listening in on your internet traffic.If you are after an add blocker try a combo of Chrome together with the Ghostery extension. Especially web sites like the Sydney Morning Herald which connect to nearly 30 external service will load about 10 time faster. Plus if you are browser via a mobile 4G connection your data usage will drop quite a bit as well.
