Hey Crew! So ive been an avid participant in SB FORUM for just over 2 years. Tons of great helpful info supplied by many many authors. But ive noticed over this winter the chatter on SB has dropped off markedly. Where is everyone? Taking up new sport? Too old for windsurfin? Whats the go??
Where is everybody??

Just becauese im dazzling you with my impeccable grammer and spelling , doesn't mean I know what I'm talking about .

Been gusty squally and very wet in Auckland lately.
Did a 2 handed sailing race around islands on 31st August, sunny forecast 10-15 knots then gusted to 20 knots.
Were planning downwind when tiller broke so self rescued.
Saw 3 wind foilers out in Rangitoto Channel in good form.

Daylight savings starts end of month and should get better weather soon then will dust of gear and get out there.

I thought it was quiet because I hadn't seen many posts by you lately. Figured that there were a bunch of you getting some winter winds at GB. As for me, I'm dreaming of those days in late spring when we will be getting 20+knots of NE, crystal blue water and 24 degree water ????. Until then we may have to get creative about new topics for SB. Perhaps we could come up with 100 excuses to tell our bosses when we call in sick so that we can go sailing.

Strewth, Olskool, just jump across to a GPS thread. There is sooo much flaming going on at the moment, I have turned off the heating in the house and pool and just leave my computer on instead. Toasty warm

. . . Too old for windsurfin? . . .

The majority of us don't post unless we've something useful to say. Unfortunately, there are three pesky exceptions. To acknowledge them here by name would only add to their feeling of self-worth - your quote above gives a clue to one of them.

Yo Fangy, things were quiet until Hardie dropped the 12 mega ton nuke scenario on GPSTC. Im no GPSTC guy, but itd be a shame if it all goes boom. I can see lots of crew benefit from the mateship n good competition.
HARDIE lock the safety n get ya finger off the trigger.

Sounds like you will have to stop wearing the bright orange fluoro rashie with the polished gold helmet As for me, I have (unintentionally) shredded down to 65 kgs, so I won't have to buy a bigger sail this year. Last sail was back at the beginning of February so hopefully the. muscle memory still works.
P.S. Maybe it is the time to get your boss on the water!!

MarkSSC, I think youve mistaken me for someone else. I never wear a wetshirt or a stack hat. Let alone brightly coloured showpony stuff. Im the big gorilla looking guy who wears boardies all year. Regardless of the temperature.

I've noticed that a lot of local qld windsurfers have started using a facebook group and whatsapp to communicate. i still enjoy reading sb and hope it keeps going

if it doesn't already exist, i wonder if seabreeze can incorporate a chat app that doesn't require extra accounts and mobile number, just uses a sb account?
