Hmm I seem to remember vando and I had a ball last time we sailed the wave gear at reddy, certainly neither of us did the walk of shame unlike someone else

done a few walks of shame at kirra, actually it's my best move at kirra.

but at redcliffe????? not sure it qualifies as walk of shame territory.

Walking back upwind to your starting point because you where washed in down there qualifies as the walk of shame in my book.

I'm considering getting some strong wind slalom gear,
due to moving down to vic a couple ks away from sandy point...

Id like to use my Freestyle gear in 5-25knots
Then get some Slalom gear for 20knots+

Firstly and most importantly, is this too far outside my skill level?
If i have to take baby steps into speed gear, starting with 15knot gear, then i simply will avoid slalom gear and buy some small freestyle sails.
For those that know me in person, im sure you can just give me a simple yes or no.
For those that dont; 75kg, 6ft, carve gybing, water starting, been windsurfing for something like 4-5 months now. Only ever used a gps once, and recorded 24.9knots for my peak speed.

You'll be fine, slalom gear is pretty easy to sail. Its just sailing in the straight line and gybing... the hard part is beating all the other bastards hehe. Might take a session to get used to outboard straps, and get someone to show u how to rig a cammed sail.

Only caveat is that it tends to be on the expensive+fragile side.
