I need a replacement boom head for an old Maui Sails boom and Severne ... any suggestions? I don't think I want a Severne (I think it is RDM/SDM specific and ... it seems to wobble after a while).

Tempted to just get a Point-7 that works nicely with my Point-7 boom and is $70. It should fit the Severne (has inner 32 mm), but probably too narrow for Maui Sails? LISA is $300 (what?), and the new Unifiber probably does not fit? Any other suggestion?

I think the Maui sails boom head is amongst the best I've had. www.mauisails.com/booms#front-end Freight was quick.

+1 for the Maui Sails boom head. I replaced other boom heads that were breaking my sdm masts with MS. Never a problem since.

I did not realize they were still in business! They seem to only sell the boom head nowadays., and have a few very old sail at discount. I find the slalom head ok, it is a bit of a pain with an rdm mast ...

I also agree, streamlined makes the best boom heads, only con is there are two ropes to clip.

Yup... I've gone with Maui Sail's boom heads and been very pleased with the results.

Well, so, I kept the Maui Sail's boom head on the Maui Sail 170-230 Slalom boom, but I got a Point-7 boom head to replace the head of my Severne Enigma 170-220. It fits perfectly (I checked first, 32 inner diameter). It is a 3-bolts head, much better then the original Severne, and fits both RDM and SDM with a modern adaptor. The original Severne is rdm or SDM specific (sigh), and the Maui Sail adaptor is quite a bulky affair.

PS why I have so many booms? Some are inheritances ...

Looks good. How much was shipping to the USA?

Not completely clear, shipment was free for the AC-0 6.1+5.4+400 mast, then I added the boom add (69 Euros) and the shipment went up 49 Euros. Not sure it was a bug in the software. Anyway, the cost is still competitive with any boom head ...

eh, I'd never be able to point something that well ... it is Bluto's side door (the Metris, or do you mean the brown piece of wood?))
