Now that I've finished my glassing and filling, it finally occurred to me that my repair site is within 10cm of a logo and lettering. Is a fade for colour matching still possible, do I just get some thin pin stripe tape and carefully mask all the lettering and logo off?

Yup mask the logo off - scalpel helps
Fade out to just past the start of the logo

EG: Here I've replaced FCS inserts (and fin put back in obviously) but had to paint a wider area
Masked to the black stinger pinline and masked / cut around the dragon - then the white spray on the back 1/4 of the board is faded out lengthwise but is harder to see as the fade is interrupted by the logo. Its worth doing. And that's why I'm not cheap

Or here...... big holes up front. Didn't have to paint all the orange, but why try to get a 100% match if you can mask the Simmer logo, and it had a fade in the orange to blue anyway? So I painted the whole orange area....
