Can you remove a sticker on monofilm & get it off in one piece. The reason is l can not get this particular one in this size approx 280 mm in diameter .keen for some advice. All am l just dreamin

Careful use of a hair dryer works, just enough to warm the adhesive.

is the sticker more important than the sail ?
if yes, hair dryer and patience should do the trick. and wd 40 once you manage to get a piece lifted.

To get rid of the sticker residue you can use De-Solv-it ,it's a spray from Bunnings and won't damage your monofilm.

No chance to get a sticker off from a sail without damaging the sticker.
the sticker will either break or at least stretch.
No need to worry too much about the monofilm as long as it is in an OK condition.

I would recommend to make a copy of it.

You can use synthetic thinner. Never use sellulosic thinner.

I always use acetone to clean a torn sail area before applying sail tape and it sticks like nothing else.
But is acetone bad for monofilm ?

Guys, take care. Just because a solvent doesn't show initial damage does not mean it is good to use. Many solvents are harmful to plastics and their relatives. I have taken off stickers by peeling alone. You don't get all the gum off, but it can be collected by rolling a sticky piece over the area. This will pick up the gum reside just like a ball of blutack can be used to pick up reside off a wall. Finish the job with some Vuplex or similar because they are specifically made to polish plastics.

Isopropyl alcohol works too. Not as severe as acetone and if the whole process pisses you off take a swig. Troubles over
