The male thread inside the adapter is drilled and then flared so the nut cant come of.
The only way around it is to use a larger drill and remove the flaring.

Ok, thanks. Doesn't sound like it's worth mutilating the base to try and get the pin out, guess i better just keep that setup and use as a tendon.
I'll try to find if a replacement RS 8mm male thread pin is available out there anywhere..

Yes, i see what you are thinking, but my explanation didn't tell the whole story. Story is, the slot on the mistral pin is in the same place as the RS, but the very bottom part below the slot on the Mistral has more meat on it, making it a little longer below the slot, and that extra length will not let it sit down inside the mast track car and the car is just deep enough to fit the RS pin.
