No not another troll about who's board is stronger....

RRD at least the last couple of years have done "normal" construction and also "CHK" being their premium construction.
Can't make head or tails of the RRD archive site and googling hasn't helped much: what is CHK?
"Carbon H? Kevlar"... nope can't be, they use Carbon / Kevlar anyway in std models.
Is it stronger? or lighter?

How is their construction in terms of strength??? Their boards continually get good write ups

I've got a 2004 Wave cult, best constructed board i've ever had. It's bomb proof. It's CHK and it's been through the washing machine many times along with massive flat landings and always shone through. If you just look at the general finish of their product, fin box/mast track fit and finish you can see that they specify a high quality of finish to Cobra. I also think their layup design Is pretty spot on for ultimate strength.

I agree... best constructed boards I have had are RRDs... can't bust them........... with Starboard (waveboards) being a damn close second.

Now I ponder: so if CHK just means just that it has Kevlar in it, does that mean RRD have downgraded their "standard" wave and FSW construction (they had carbon/kevlar full length in 1999 models)???

Well that quote was taken from the 2006 archive site so they used their 'CHK' construction in the boards mentioned from 1999 to 2006 for sure. In '07 that changed to 'CTK' but it's probably almost the same technology.

In '08 however it seems they have totally changed their construction to 'wood/biaxial glass/technora in all their wave boards bar the new Twin tip which is Technora/Kevlar. Whether it's as tough as the old technology is anyones guess, they seem damn light though.

i heard on the grapevine that the tuffest mass produced boards on the market are kintetic

i got the rrd fsw109 ck and its the lightest board in my range, not bad seeing as its the biggest board too.
