I am in the market for a new board in the 80-90ltr range, and have an opportunity to buy a 2009 RRD FSW board in 80 ltrs, or a 2007 Naish Global wave board in 87ltrs.

Any input on how they might compare? I know they are not necessarily comparable boards but they are both in great shape and the price is definitely right. I'm looking for a board that will be great all around, and am afraid the Naish may be too wave oriented, while the RRD may be a little too small unless it is really blowing. I've been riding a 2011 Angulo CV1 110ltr board.

The planing threshold on those would likely be quite similar. From memory the Naish volume is a tiny bit overstated but at any rate the RRD is faster rockered and can carry more fin.

If doing B&J / ocean sailing with no waves (but the big chop you get out there) - def the RRD.

If wavesailing, get the Naish. RRD make a sweet FSW but they are still not a waveboard and are stiff on a wave.

I have a global wave 2009. Bought it after trying one at Geraldton for a week. Nice board both in waves and flat water. its 59 cm wide, which gives enough planning area and floatation in <15knots for a guy my size (85kg). If my opinion is any good, I would buy the naish over the rrd. ( I have also a RRD fsw)..
I guess the best advice is if you can try both and see which one do you fell more comfortable with.
