At the pro level I do not see a single reason to continue to have fins and foil competing in the same event. It's called open class, and it belong to club "for fun" racing. It would make a little more sense if in individual races competitors were forced to use one or the other, but as it is now, when they get to choose and you have fins and foils in the same hit, it is just a silly. Just do foil, it is better for sure in 8-15 knots conditions, and nobody races in 40 knots anyway ...
