RSX2-Olympic recycling
Just recently finished making a tandem from one of our now defunct RSX's. Thought this would be a cheap way to experience some tandem fun .The project gave me something to do instead of watching the F1. If it works as well as I hoped I might make a fleet of them for some One-Design tandem racing. It will at least be great for taking young kids for a fast blast.

The French are great at taking the p!ss and humor in general. Here's their response to the winged keel in 1983

It's never too late for a bit of fun. Especially when half the world is in lock down/can't leave the country.

very nice!! I really like your thinking.

Yes, tandems are great for taking kids out, It give then a taste and they feel safe with you right there with them.

The only think I can see with this one is that you might need to move the inbox forward 20-30cm to keep it balanced if you have bigger kids on the front. Looking forward to seeing how it goes.

Thanks Andrew.
Notice in the 3rd photo you can see where the original footstrap plugs are, with the new rear straps further back . So effectively the finbox is about 20cm further forward.
I have set it up to use in moderate to strong wind and spacings from my normal setup. I do 90% of my sailing with a 4.4m freestyle sail. should have enough play to take some 6.5m NCX's though.
Just need to find a large but short weed fin to get in to our local shallow weedy areas.
I'm sure my daughter and I can get it going faster than 22knots (45 French knots) though. My little girl can do 31 on her own,I shouldn't slow her down more than 8 knots I'd hope

Great to hear. That could be enough.

I am sure that if you can get it balanced and flying, it will go over 22 knots. I would love to see that.
