I've made up a quick digital magazine with some on my favourite photo's taken over the summer. It's a work in progress and I would like to get some others to add to it, I'd like some other photo's and maybe some stories or articles to add some extra flavour. If you'd like to get involved please get in touch, Someone must have some good yarns from this season.
...Looking back it was a great summer
, Thanks to all that got in front of my lens...I had over 10000 images to look through....There's a lot more that I'll add later.
Check it out at this link...Sadly it's flash enabled so it won't work on the iPad/phone, I'll work on a new version to see if this can be fixed.http://jil.st/5wYMNA
who's that gumby on the front [}:)]![]()
awesome little time capsule, only comment so far, is that the photos that are rotated 90deg are kinda hard to view haha, is there a way to rotate the magazine? oh and let the hipsters keep their instagram filters, they have no place in windsurfing, we don't need filters to look fulleh sik eh
An annual mag that nsw sailors could contribute articles and photos would be awesome, just a little reminder of the season and sessions gone down.
I've got to get a water camera, in the last year I have seem some crazy sailing at some serious waves whilst sitting in the channel. Then again maybe they are best remembered over a beer in the pub.
Hi Jason,
My wife and I taken a fair few windsurfing photos over the last summer. All have been of flat water sailing, mainly at Kyeemagh Botany Bay and also some at Canton Beach.
I'd be happy to share these photos with you via Flickr, Google Drive or whatever you like for you to check out. I don't mind contributing a bit of a spiel for these spots either.
I've previously contributed to an online windsurfing magazine, Oz Windsurf and quite enjoyed the process.
Love your work Jase! I'm sure everyone has a great appreciation when something like this gets done, purely out of a love of windsurfing, max respect.
The only thing I would say, is as per swoosh's comment the 90deg photos are hard to view...but it would be a different story printed of course. You'd lose a lot of that perspective if you had to crop/shrink them to fit horizontally which would be a shame.
In random news, who turned off the wind ![]()
Gooey sums up the day pretty well.
Except for the part about him being on the shoulder, but you all knew that.
Yeah the news paper took some shots, and they were good but I don't think they came close to summing up what it was like bogging back out in the channel. I have never seen a photo or video that matches the memory of looking into 6 foot spitting barrels on a heaving ledge 5 feet from the dry rocks while those two blokes seriously pushed the limits!
The best bit was driving home with 38 (I counted) sea urchins in my clutch foot. I didn't even feel them the adrenalin was still flowing!
cheers mike, worked a treat.
what size did you get, im certain you are going to enjoy that board.
yeah those photos are great, a bit of variaty and input from around the place would make it a sick mag to put on the coffee table or bottom draw of the bedside table.
You can't sail this spot if there are ANY surfers out. As such it is a no go on weekends and only on the wildest of days can you get it. Also this is what happens when you fall off.
When you get it right it is just awesome and that day is one of the most memorable of all with both Duncan and Brett going hard, it was awesome just sailing out next to a spitting barrell.
Nice shots jase exept for that guy on the cover. next time you guys get a call from George to sail that spot I'm busy
