Does anyone has experience with neilpryde fusion 2016? I'm about to buy one and don't want to make a mistake with it.

Hi. I have an older Fusion, perhaps 3013. They are simple to rig, and easy to manage on the water. You won't break any speed records with them though. Mine has been a bit fragile around parts of the luff area due to the tension on the seams. The HD versions are probably the best ones to buy because they are stronger. Remember too that a NP sail needs a Neil Pryde mast because they are not compatible with other popular brands.

All around sail not particularly good at any one thing. The HD definitely feels softer. They pull hard, but gradually, but they're not super stable. The smaller sizes can rig either on 400 or 430. Unless you're heavy, rig on the 400 - the 430 feels stiff. BTW I'm not bashing them. if you're heavy or a beginner who needs extra power, sailing in less than ideal conditions, they do the job well. It was the first sail that I got when I started 3 years ago (HD) and it's still going strong. I then got flatter less powerful sails and really suffered. Replaced them with smaller fusions. I will replace them with something a bit softer eventually, but for now they do the job.

I'm a bit heavy (95kg) and a restarter and the wind conditions where I windsurf are not the best eather, so it may serve for now and later as I improve I shall buy something else. Thanks for the valuable info!

Well I'm 70 kg and they pull quite hard. I've been told that the fusions are basically Atlases, but with more foot area to make them even more powerful. Atlases themselves are onshore/power wave sails (which lightweights tend not to like). They may feel perfect at your weight. Always down haul to the same point and use the outhaul to tune.

Get the HD version if you can. They are softer and will last longer.

Do you already have a Neilpryde mast, for the fusion sail size that you want?

What do you currently use?
What size/s are you looking at? and what brand &sizes are you other sails?
2017 fusions all go on the same mast boom.
Ryde are nice too just the next level faster than Fusions.

Ive had Rydes 5.5, 6.5, 7.5 and Fusion HD 4.5.

4.5 is my winter storm sail.
Now on Hellcats fast camless

I just bought the new rigg, cause I wanted to get back to windsurfing again. I haven't windsurfed for years and my gear was old. Now I bought the 2016 Fusion 6.5, because it was a bargain and seemed to be a good option for regaining the practice. It may serve for now and later I may move on. As I get better I want to learn more freestyle and jumping, so I shall buy other sails.

I have the 5.5 HD Fusion. I'm 73 kgs and use when the wind is in the 20-25 knot range. The rest of my quiver is 6.5 Ryde and 7.2 helcat. I have an old 4.7 Expression for when the breeze is realy cranking.
It's not a race sail but a good high wind free ride option.
