Quick question- Anyone rigged a Neil Pryde H20 on a RDM Ezzy mast? Curious to hear how they rig.

Thanks in advance.

Phil, might not be a great help but I rig my 2 NP fusions on an Ezzy rdm. They rig a bit ugly with the mast not taking up the full luff pocket in the sail but go well once powered up.

Hey Phil,

The H2 has 2 cams which are fairly big. Think the cams would sit better on a SDM than a RDM IMO. I have a 8.2m H2 and use a X6 NP mast. No probs.

Cheers.

P.S. Hope the week's holiday at Canton was good, nice weather but no wind unfortunately.

Thanks Sailhack and Wayne.

Was told the NP would rig a little ugly too, but be "usuable". Still not confident though...

It's interesting I can run my 6.6, 2 cammed Hot Sail GP2 on my RDM Ezzy perfectly, surely the Neil Pryde would rig simular? Dunno...

PS- Got robbed wind-wise at Canton. Had preferct weather though and caught up with all the relos and family. I'll be back in winter (maybe during the Marauders catch up)- and this time it better blow!

Thanks Joe windsurf,

I just got a report from a fellow who just rigged the 7.2 Neil Pryde on a 430 Ezzy and 36 cm extesion, sadly the result was a pretty ugly mis-match with the one cam floating about 1 cm off the mast. So it looks like a bigger SDM mast is in order...

It's a sad fact of windsurfing - you've got to match the sails with the masts.

That would have been a bad combination, as the 7.2m is probably meant for a 460. On the other hand, it would be interesting to see whether you could get a similar spec mast by mix and matching Ezzy sections.

If you were around here, I'd happily let you trying rigging it with a 430, 460, and 490, or combinations to see if it would work.

You think that's bad! I bought a new windscreen for my VW transporter and it didn't even fit. I thought it would work, but apparently VN commodores have a different shaped roof. Who knew!

Take a bit of downhaul tension off of the VW. It will widen the car a little and you should be able to fit the VN screen. Sand or grind back a bit of the bog already around the windscreen in the VW and you should be right to go. Apply silastic as required.

Shame it didn't fit but even if it did an SDM would be far better performance wise.

Forget the windscreen, your left rear needs air.

Tried to fill in up in Lanno, but the town is so tight they're charging for Air. And I spent all my cash on the personalised plate..

In the last frame what i like to think of as an inflatable toy roo ($4 from the $2 shop) has caused all the masts to fall out the back of the van

- the question is -are they RDM or SDM masts - and will my Wavefoil Pro Rig up on them ? it is very cool because it has little patches of cloth that look like flames coming off the leach.
Pozza used to ride them too.

Please let me know quickly as i am cash poor AND time poor due to my addiction to smilies / emoticons and irrelevant Caption Contests on windsurf forums.

The Wavefoil Pro had a straight leech.

You are thinking of the Heatwave (had the flames. Oh so artistic)

(I think)

Wow this degraded in a hurry.

Phil - Not everyone is made of money to buy a new mast for every sail so if you have yourself a bargain just rig it up with what mast you have and go out for some fun. Everyone on here is just bored cause there has been no wind.

How's the Futura? I heard you christened it already

Cheers

I don't think it degraded fast enough!.. Ezzy mast on X sail subject is hardly going to turn into an insightful 25 pages of quality discussion..

I don't think I could sail something called a Heatwave. I have a bad habit of getting bad songs stuck in my head when sailing..

^Not that that's a bad song!

Hey Marty,

Yeah, slide down hill pretty quick hey, all good, got a few helpful replys. It's seems glassy Autumn weather doesn't agree with some.

And yep christend the Futura nicely with a 9 cm crack... Rode it again yesterday (8-14 knots), and I have to say what a sweet board!

Catch ya mate.

sorry Marty disagree.
Somebody said it simply did not work as one cam doesn't contact the mast.

I'm all for mix n match to save money but any RDM into an SDM sail is a gamble

What about a RDM mast on a no cam freeride sail that was probably designed for a SDM?any dramas? Obviously it is looser in the luff pocket, anything else to worry about?
