There are a few posts here requesting advice on best wind directions for certain spots. It got me thinking that I have also forgotten where to sail in what direction, not that I knew beforehand anyway! I have been creating a bit of a list as I read but not so sure on accuracy...can you more experienced guys please help to correct this if wrong and I can amend as necessary. Cheers.

St.Kilda
NW, W, S

Elwood
Anything but SE, E, NE

Green Point
NW, N, NE

Rickets Point

Depends on the type of sailing that you are doing, and also the "distance from the city"...

Rye: N - waves
Williamstown: N/NE - speed (watch for rocks, eels)
Altona: N/NE - speed (offshore)

Gnotuk or Chelsea: SW - waves

I'd scrap St Kilda for a NW. Too "holey", straight offshore from the apartment blocks. Otherwise the list looks pretty good to me.
