Anyhone know if you can get replacement shims for a Mauisails boom head without getting a whole new head? -- need the ones that go around the boom front end and the one inside the clamp on the mast

For the shims that go around the boom end you can always build that up to the right diameter with some fiberglass cloth.

When I bought the maui head for my existing boom it came with 2 shims a thicker and thinner one. The thicker one was too thick and the thinner one too thin. I increased the diameter of the boom end with some glass and then used the thinner shim.

I think i still have the thicker one somewhere. If you can find one let me know and I'll see if I can dig it up.

I use a severne mast shim for my MS boom heads - fits perfectly. As for the boomhead shims themselves can you get me some hens teeth with your order ;-) I understand MS don't sell them separately and only come with an entire boom head assembly. That said Remi from thewindsurfingshed.com.au kindly sorted me out with a secondhand set that was still in pretty good nick. I'm yet to find a good substitute for them as they really lock the head onto the boom and can't slip out with their lipped edge unlike if using rubber matting etc.

Thanks for the offer. As suggested I've contacted Remi so will see what he comes up with. If it comes down to getting a new head I'll do it but see if there is a cheaper alternative first. Thanks all for the info

I recently had one sent over from Maui Sails in Hawaii. Just email Phil. Cost me US$35.
