The wind this week in Maui is zero. Second trip in a row this has happened. SUPing and surfing it is then.

Wednesday 16 October

Gale warning for Wednesday for Port Phillip

Winds
Northwesterly 15 to 25 knots tending northerly 25 to 35 knots in the morning then tending north to northwesterly 25 to 30 knots in the middle of the day. Squalls to 45 knots possible. A west to southwest change of 20 to 30 knots at night.

Seas
1 to 1.5 metres, increasing to 1.5 to 2.5 metres during the morning.

I am not really complaining, love the place, the surf is about to get awesome and the accomodation turned out way better than expected.

I stayed in Kaanapali
Well wife did I hit kanaha 6 days in a row
Got waves one day at uppers 5.3 3 days
4.7 2 days
4.2 one day
Beautiful beach
Things for her to do
Easy 45min drive each way
Happy wife happy me
That week anyway

Isn't mid-October pushing it anyway ?

I always thought October was sort of the time you gambled to get early winter swells and late summer winds both occurring, but usually you got neither.

Didn't the season always used to end on the last weekend in September with the big gear bring-and-buy yard sale thing at (Kanaha ? Paia ? or wherever it was)

I am in Maui right now! On the aloha clinic in spreckelsville.

Today was the first day without wind this week. Just as well because my hands are stuffed.

The last two days were fully powered on a 5.4m. Big air and riding waves for the first time.

AWESOME!!!

This time last year the lightest day was 20knots
