Hey Just a quick question.

Got a new kona one board and fitted the retractible daggerboard. It's a bit loose when deployed and starts to work it's way back up when beating upwind. I tried loosening the two cassette plates and and applying inward pressure before retightening, but that just led to it being really tight when in the raised position and hard to deploy :(.

I'm thinking about maybe somehow shimming the cassette plates with something towards the rear of them (where most contact is made when deployed) but just thought I'd see if anyone had had a similiar experience/ reccommended fix

Thanks in advance you guys are the best!

When I got my Kona brand new (~8 years ago) daggerboard was hard to deploy. It was solved by spraying sillicon lubricate on daggerboard. I heard this was a very common issue with new raceboards, although not sure if your case it is due to lip stiffness/friction (as in my case) or pressure between plates/daggerboard. Have you asked in konaone.com forum? It is not very active, but sooner or later staff will answer. If on a hurry, try to lubricate in the friction point, in small quantities first.

Hope it helps!
