what if said kiter had broken his leg by a carelessly left unattended windsurfer board that had been placed in a position where it or someone could be damaged??

was just asking where the responsibility lies had the kiter been injured ,ie are you a member of an association that covers this type of situation ?

As for not paying up for a damaged board, this is poor form in any context

I guess by the same logic people shouldn't run out kite lines all over the beach - in case a WS'er trips over them?

this is highly unlikely as zimmer frames are not very beach friendly.....unless, they have some sort of snow shoe type thingy attachched to ........

this gives me an idea ..........

I'm posting my report on this event as I followed from day one.
board is permanently damaged, unprofessionally I'll prefer to say completely ****ed. I had a long conversation with Steve Stratfold about it and looking at different possible solutions but even stripping down the board to bare, replace the foam, re vacuum, loosing graphics and spending 500 on it , it will never sail the same. This is all black on white, Steve wrote down a full report. Board is creased both sides and the foam has been compressed on one side, where the concave is, changing completely shape.
So nothing to be funny about it, especially on a brand new board so someone should take their responsibility.

Still no word from Buzz light ears.
Gee. You'd think he would just fess up and pay for it out if the company pr budget.
or at least offer a pair of sunnies as consolation.

Kiter could claim that your gear was a hazard and left unattended with no bunting to warn of dangers eg fins etc... just joking but that's the way the world is going SAFETY THIS SAFETY THAT

Many years ago I had a board lying at Balmoral, in the Windsurfing section (there was a sign). Some b***h walks over it, pretends to trip, and start making a loud scene to the effect that she was going to sue me. Saw the whole thing, was planned.

Sorta talked my way out, but some people, huh?

Man up Australia.

Huh, like a kiter who says OK I'll pay for it and goes into hiding ?

You have a strange definition of manliness...

If I parked my car somewhere and someone crashed into it purely because they lost control of their car, I wouldn't be expecting to be sued - I'd expect to be the one doing the suing.
