Asked if he could design a board that had an old school feel with cutting edge technology, his magical hands did the work and came up with the BOHO 370 Race Longboard (And now the 380).

Despite being known as the BOHO 370 Race, it is a board of 369.7 cm with a width of 68 cm, max thickness is 16.3 cm and the volume is 270 liters to make the board less bouncy on the water (specs of the 380 coming soon).

Weight of this awesome raceboard is around 16.5 kg.

The hull is a quad concave that continues to the rear in a slightly sunken V with concave, so the batwings are actually kind of incorporated into the board. At the nose it is an old school outline, 1 foot off is 39.8 cm.

Sounds like a nice board. But I don't see many long boards around my area these days. At $7000+ roughly how many do you expect to sell into the Australian market. Is there still a strong following somewhere in the country?

OneHundredBoards do long boards too. Might be a little cheaper but also offer D2 hulls

For sure, windsurfing across the board, has seen numbers struggling. We are trying to keep the class alive by supplying a quality product and serviceable market for those that are still involved. This means easy access to parts, strong communication and backing the product when things go wrong. We've learnt a lot over the years importing and distributing the Windsurfer LT and aiding its continuous growth (a true outlier). If we can help to do the same with raceboards then even better!

Raceboard numbers are up in all events on last year in NSW so this is promising. There are also some rumours that a world championship could be held in Aus in 2028 which should peak some interest. With an aging fleet of predominantly Starboard Phantom's (many from the 2016 Worlds in Brisbane) we thought its time to breath some new life into the competition.
A lot have people have been swept up by the foiling revolution and we are all for that but we aren't ready to let the fin die!

We don't expect to sell these things hand over fist, just trying to keep windsurfing alive by any means necessary!

There are certainly other options on the market but access is limited and difficult with most new boards having to be sourced from overseas, meaning high import costs and risk of freight damage. We have the ability to streamline this through our regular container shipments from the factory, allowing us the ability of quick action on orders with safe delivery. We really want to make it as easy as possible for people to access a really good board at a decent price without being turned off by lead-times and other obstacles.

Price wise I believe we come in under all the competition, with a Carbon R1 board (including daggerboard) setting you back closer to $9800 and D2 boards at $7950 before shipping. A 2022 Phantom will set a buyer back $8k too.

Again, we want to make the sport as accessible as possible!

Great to see new support for raceboards in Aus and a local alternative to the Starboard Phantom. Was interesting that there were 135 entrants in the Raceboard worlds held this month compared to 35 entrants in the formula foil worlds. While there may not be as many locals currently racing there are still plenty of passionate raceboard sailors around.
