Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone could tell me what the approximate values would be for 2 windsurfers (boards, sails, booms, mast etc). Unfortunately we had a fire destroy our shed last week and among the very many possessions destroyed were two windsurfers. I am not that familiar with the terminology as they were my sons' boards, bought back in the late 1980s.

One was a 10' Falcon and the other an 8' Wasp. Both were complete with sails, booms, etc.

Would anyone have any idea what they may be worth, or what/where I could find out what the replacement value for the insurer would be. I live in South Australia.

Many thanks.

Agree with appleman

New price for beginner's gear - $4000 plus.

To replace them - people give that stuff away for free .... often.

Get new replacement payment, buy some new kit from a store, and come back to the sport!

If there is any fully insured shed for lease in fire prone area in QLD ?

I have got a mass of junk that need urgent conversion to hard cash.

Unfortunately flooding the shed doesn't help, my stuff still floats very well.

That how it works. (IMO)
1. You should have quotation from the nearest windsurfing shop for replacement of lost in fire windsurfing sets.
2.You send this claim to insurance company together with quotation.
3.Insurance pay directly to the shop for the supplied replacement windsurfing equipment
4.You pickup your new equipment from the shop.

All hands clean, claim solved.

I think for $50 you could pay someone to haul it away.

you forgot step 2.1: Insurance company informs you the windsurf gear is considered a removable item and only covered if you pay an extra premium.

5. Then log in into SB again and open Buy&Sell section.

You could sell your replaced but redundant equipment at heavily discounted price quickly ( since you don't have this shed to store equipment anyway , but left outside could be stolen and you don't want to rise next claim right now )
