Anybody know where you can get these from in SA? A couple of places sell the foam ones for surfbards but I don't reckon they're wide enough for my 120L (69cm) board.

I've got a set I use for taking my formula board short distances. I wouldn't take it over about 60 k's but for tooling down to Palm Beach it's been fine so far this summer. There was a guy selling them on eBay and he had heaps. They were called "Handy Racks". As I said, for short hauls they seem fine.

Any specific reason why you wouldn't take it on a longer haul? Obviously the faster you go the less ideal it would be.

When I've got the barn door on the roof, with all the uplift it generates at speed, I like it attached to something a bit more substantial that a couple of plastic buckle clips
